Update Charge Code Dialog Box

Use the Update Charge Code dialog box to edit existing charge codes.

To display the form, complete the following step:

From the Configuration menu, click Master Data > Maintain Charge Tree > Update Charge Code.

Update Charge Branch

Select a charge/branch row in the table by selecting the button to the left of the row. Then click Update Charge Code to edit the charge code. If the row is a charge, the Update Charge Code dialog box displays.

Field Description
Charge Tree Code

This non-editable field displays the charge tree code whose charges are being edited.

Charge Branch Code

This non-editable field displays the charge branch code whose charges are being edited.

Charge Code

This non-editable field displays the charge code whose charges are being edited.

Override Description

You can override the description of the Charge by entering a value in this field. If the employee does a Lookup in Deltek Time or Deltek Expense, the Charge/Branch Description will display the value that you enter here. This field will also be shown on the Charge Branch/Charge table in the Description field.

Costpoint Company

This drop-down list displays only if you have configured your system to use the Costpoint multicompany feature and you are using either UDT06 or UDT07, or both. Select the Costpoint company that you want to associate with the UDT06/UDT07. All Costpoint companies set up in your system are available for selection, and an additional value, None, is also available. The default shown will be the Costpoint company that was selected previously for the Charge. If a Costpoint company was not previously selected then None will display as the default.

You can configure your system to use Costpoint multicompany by selecting the appropriate check box in the Miscellaneous tab of the General Configuration screen. Establish UDT06 and UDT07 usage in the UDT Options tab of the General Configurations screen.

If you use Lookup in the UDT06 or UDT07 fields, the values that display are those associated with the Costpoint Company you select. If the Costpoint company is None (you do not select a Costpoint Company), the UDT06 and UDT07 fields will be disabled.

If you change the Costpoint Company value from a company to None, the UDT06 and UDT07 values will be cleared and the fields disabled. If you change the Costpoint company value from "None" to a company, the UDT06 and UDT07 fields will be enabled.

Note: The order in which the following user-defined fields display on the screen depends on the settings you established in the General Configuration screen.
Field Description
Active

Select this check box if the charge should be active in the system. The default value is selected.

Require Comment
Restrict Access

Select this check box to restrict access to the charge. After selecting the OK button, you can select this charge from the table to access the Restrictions tab. In the Restrictions tab, you specify which employees can have access to this charge.

Note: If you do not select this check box, the charge is available.
UDT01

Click to the right of the field to select an UDT01 or enter a value. If an UDT01 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT02

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT02 or enter a value. If a UDT02 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

If you are linking a UDT02 and an UDT01, you must supply one of them in this screen. If you are not linking a UDT02 and an UDT01, you must enter an UDT01 in this screen.

This application does not perform link validations.  If you are linking a UDT02 and an UDT01, be sure that the UDT02 and/or UDT01 is valid.

UDT03

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT03 or enter a value. If a UDT03 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT04

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT04 or enter a value. If a UDT04 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT05

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT05 or enter a value. If a UDT05 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT06

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT06 or enter a value. If a UDT06 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

If you are using the Costpoint multicompany feature and have selected a Costpoint company, only UDT06s assigned to the selected company will display in Lookup. If you enter a UDT06 manually, it must be a UDT06 for the selected company.  If it is not for the selected company, you will receive an error when you click OK.

If you selected a value of None for Costpoint Company, this field will be disabled.

UDT07

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT07 or enter a value. If a UDT07 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

If you are using the Costpoint multicompany feature and have selected a Costpoint Company, only UDT07s assigned to the selected company will display in Lookup. If you enter a UDT07 manually, it must be a UDT07 for the selected company.  If it is not for the selected company, you will receive an error when you select the OK button.

If you selected a value of None for Costpoint Company, this field will be disabled.

UDT08

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT08 or enter a value. If a UDT08 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT09

Click to the right of the field to select an UDT09 or enter a value. If an UDT09 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT10

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT10 or enter the value. If a UDT10 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT11

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT11 or enter the value. If a UDT11 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT12

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT12 or enter the value. If a UDT12 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT13

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT13 or enter the value. If a UDT13 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT14

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT14 or enter the value. If a UDT14 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

UDT15

Click to the right of the field to select a UDT15 or enter the value. If a UDT15 value was previously saved for this charge, it will display as the default.

Budgeted Hours

Use this field to update the hours budgeted for this project. The field provides a convenient way for you to update hours directly from Deltek Time and Expense with Employee Self Service, rather than from an SQL script. The hours you enter here display in the Budgeted Hours column at the far right side of the Charge Trees table. Your updated hours are saved to the database, along with the other charge-related data.

Note: This field is optional. The sole purpose of this field is to enable you to update the Budgeted Hours field from Deltek Time and Expense with Employee Self Service. Nothing is done with these hours beyond storing them in the database.
